  • This is a marriage certificate (which includes a same-sex marriage certificate) that has been filed with the county or other authorized issuing body and has a control or file number assigned to it. Proof of Social Security number (SSN)

Please provide us with one of the following papers including the whole SSN.

SSNs that are just partially complete are not allowed. Please keep in mind that the name on your EDL/EID application must match the name on your Social Security Administration records.

  • W-2 form with visible SSN
  • SSA-1099 form with visible SSN
  • Non-SSA-1099 form with visible SSN
  • Pay stub with visible SSN (internet printouts are acceptable)

Please notify the Social Security Administration of your name change and wait until you obtain your new social security card before coming into our office.

How your Social Security number is used

It is utilized to assist in the enforcement of child support laws. We’ll check with the Social Security Administration to make sure the number is correct. It will not appear on your EDL/EID in any way.

Proof of Washington State residence

To be eligible for an Enhanced Washington driver license or identity card, you must present two pieces of documentation stating your primary dwelling address in Washington.

  • Unless otherwise stated below, please include your current Washington residential address. Please display your first and last names
  • If you’re married, you can utilize papers that are in the name of your spouse. You will be required to present your marriage certificate. If you are under the age of 26, you may use papers that are in the name of your parent or guardian.

  • You must provide a copy of the court order appointing guardianship. Your appointed guardian must accompany you and provide you legitimate identification
  • Else, you will be arrested.

In order to prove guardianship, you must provide a copy of the court order. A guardian who has been appointed to you must accompany you and present appropriate identification;

  • If you obtained a license in another state after your last WA license, this is not an option for you.
  • Washington vehicle registration or title (a quick title is not allowed)
  • Washington driver’s license or identification card A cell phone bill or statement *
  • A home utility or service document (bill, statement, hook-up order, etc.) for a Washington address (gas, electric, water, garbage, sewer, landline phone, TV, internet, ISTA) *

Teens and children

If you are under the age of eighteen, your parent or legal guardian must do the following:

Photograph

Your business card will have a photograph of you with your entire face visible from the front. If you have something covering your face or head (such as a hat or sunglasses), we will ask you to remove it before we take your photo to ensure that the photo will be suitable for biometric identification. If you opt not to delete it, you will not be eligible to acquire an EDL/EID in the future.

The District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles does not give driver record information over the phone and will only release driver records to the drivers themselves, with the exception of the circumstances detailed below. You may order either an uncertified or a certified driving record on the internet. Motor Vehicle Records

When you print out your driving or vehicle record, you are referred to as a motor vehicle record (MVR). In Arizona, Title 28, Chapter 2, Article 5 governs the manner in which driver license or motor vehicle record information may be released. The Federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (or DPPA), 18 USC 2721-2725, as adopted in Arizona law, Title 28, Chapter 2, Article 5, governs the manner in which driver license or motor vehicle record information may be released.
