Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District (MCTD) fees apply in the following counties: Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Queens, Richmond (Staten Island); Dutchess, Nassau and Orange Counties; Rockland, Suffolk and Westchester Counties; and Westchester County. Every six months that the permit or driving license will be valid, there will be a $1.00 fee charged by the MCTD. The MCTD charge for an 8-year driver’s license is $16, and it is payable in cash. An enhanced driving license (EDL) is available for an extra charge of $30.00.
There is no extra payment for a REAL ID; instead, only the usual renewal fee will be assessed.
Paying via credit/debit card: If you submit your application by mail or in person at a DMV office, you can pay using a check or money order made payable to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles.

Online or Telephone Renewal
If you want to renew your Texas driver’s license, motorcycle license, or identity card, the most expedient method is to do so online or by phone. It is necessary for you to satisfy the following requirements: Driver’s license in the state of Texas
- At your last visit to a driver licensing office, you renewed your driver’s license in person. You hold a driver’s license in Class C, M, or CM, or a commercial driver’s license in Class A, AM, B, BM, C, or CM, but you do not have a hazardous material endorsement. You will not be able to renew a commercial driver’s license with a hazardous materials endorsement using the online system. The validity of your driver’s license has expired or will expire in less than two years, whichever is the case. You are at least 30 days away from attaining the age of majority, and your driver’s license is a provisional license
- It is true that you are younger than 79 years of age
- Because of this, your vision, as well as your physical and mental health, have not altered in a way that would impair your ability to drive safely since your previous renewal

What factors should I consider when determining if I require a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license?
- Immediately after May 3, 2023, refrain from flying or planning to access certain federal sites, military bases, or nuclear power plants. Have a suitable alternative to a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, such as a valid United States passport or passport card, in case your driver’s license is not accepted. For those who prefer the ease of having a single driver’s license that fulfills all of the requirements for boarding a plane for domestic travel, obtaining a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license may be the best option for them. What is the process for obtaining a driver’s license that is REAL ID compliant? When renewing your license, you must complete the following steps to get a REAL ID-compliant license:
- Visit a branch office of the Department of State
- To establish your citizenship or legal presence in the United States, you must submit your certified United States birth certificate with a stamp or raised seal, an unexpired United States passport or passport card, or another acceptable citizenship or legal presence document. If your given name differs from the one shown on your birth certificate, you’ll need to bring in a verified name-change paperwork, such as your marriage license or a court order, to be processed. Before You Start, Consider the Following: You may complete several services in a single safe transaction with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, which makes use of an online service called PayIt. PayIt charges a $3 fee every online transaction, which it leverages to offer higher-quality services more effectively while incurring no upfront fees for the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. The State of North Carolina does not collect or get any benefit from the transaction fee in any way.

If any of the following conditions are met, the individual must attend an NCDMV driver licensing office:

Renewing in Person

Individuals can also renew their driver’s license at a driver license office of the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles without having to take any of the mandatory driver license exams. It is necessary to produce the following papers when renewing a driver’s license that has been lost or stolen.

In the event that a North Carolina resident is temporarily residing outside of the state for at least 30 continuous days, they may renew their basic driver license by mail once in their lifetime. If a North Carolina resident is on active service with the United States Armed Forces and stationed outside of the state, they may renew their license twice in their lifetime and back to back. Commercial licenses are not able to be renewed over the mail. Licenses renewed by mail are only valid for 60 days and expire 60 days after the individual returns to North Carolina or on the expiration date printed on the face of the license, whichever is the earlier of the two scenarios.
Individuals who wish to renew their licenses by mail must sign and date both a vision statement issued by the state and a National Sex Offender Affidavit. In addition, they must possess the following qualities:

Approximately 60 days before their license expire, the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles mails them a reminder card that includes numerous alternatives for renewing or buying a replacement driving license or ID card. Licensed drivers can renew their licenses up to six months before their expiration date at any North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles driver license location or, in many circumstances, online.
Renewing a State ID
Individuals can renew their state identification card up to six months before it expires either online or at any North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles driving licensing office.
Replacing a Driver License or ID
Drivers can obtain a new license or identification card online or at any NCDMV driver licensing office, as long as the original has not expired, been suspended, or been canceled.
The renewal or replacement of a North Carolina driving license or identification card will result in the cancellation of any licenses or identification cards issued by other states as a result of the State-to-State Verification program.
- Through the State-to-State Verification program, anybody who renews or replaces a North Carolina driving license or identification card will have any licenses or identification cards from other states cancelled.

It is not possible to renew your license through the internet if your address is different from the one that appears on the face of your license! According to Louisiana law, your current address must be displayed on the front of your license. To renew your license, you must go to an office. In compliance with Louisiana Revised Statute 49:316.1, your license renewal will include a Service Charge for internet commerce. Customer credentials might take up to 30 days to arrive in the mail. The customer must visit a field office within sixty (60) days of the date of application if the credential has not been received by the 30th day after the date of application.
PLEASE BE ADVISED: According to Louisiana law, you must maintain current coverage for all cars you have registered with the appropriate limits of liability insurance or other security as allowed by R.S.
