When it comes to paperwork, it’s best to complete it all as soon as possible, especially if you’re planning on driving in the state or looking for employment.

If your car registration is due and you need to update your address, you may do it using MyDMV. Registration renewals conducted over the Internet or at emission inspection stations are delivered to the vehicle’s registered owner’s address. The Registration Certificate and decal will not be forwarded by the United States Postal Service. A forwarding order with the Postal Service does not result in a change of address with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Through MyDMV, you may update your address and obtain a duplicate license plate.
See the section on Renewal Options.
