  • It is required that you get your vision tested within 90 days of applying for renewal on a Certificate of Vision Examination By Competent AuthorityMV3030V. Your visual acuity and field of vision must be noted on this certificate.

With your application for renewal, include the completed form MV3030V with your submission.

​Driver licenses are mailed

From a single production plant, the Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) sends all driver license and identity (ID) cards issued in the state. You will be given a printed receipt that is good for 45 days when you leave the DMV customer service facility. The photo receipt is valid photo identification for voting purposes, and it functions as your license or ID until your card arrives in the mail, whichever comes first. Within 10 business days, you should have your driver’s license or identification card in hand.

All undeliverable mail is returned to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Veteran Identifier

A veteran identification symbol may now be included on your Wisconsin driver license. To obtain a veteran identification number for your driver’s license, follow these steps:
